ALFA International board adds Anthony Harper's Dan Hughes

Global legal network ALFA International has added Anthony Harper litigation head Dan Hughes to its 15-strong board of directors.

The appointment was finalised at ALFA International’s 2024 Annual Business Meeting, which was held in New York. Hughes officially kicked off his three-year term on 25 October.

Hughes has tackled commercial litigation for two decades. He concentrates on insolvency, restructuring, and construction payment claims.

He pioneered the application and successful recognition of a US bankruptcy in New Zealand, Anthony Harper said. He was also key to facilitating the recognition and appointment of New Zealand liquidators in Australia.

In 2015, Hughes made partner at Anthony Harper and grew its litigation team by incorporating specialist expertise in construction, health and safety and insolvency. Earlier this year, he helped to establish the firm’s document discovery outsourcing service, the Discovery Specialists, with partner Joey James.

ALFA International was launched in 1980. At present, it has 140 member firms across the globe.
