The firm's partnership is now 50% women
Tavendale + Partners has elevated Kate Warren and Miranda Gray to partner – a move that means half of the firm’s partners are women.
Both women commenced with the firm in 2021. According to managing partner Mark Tavendale, the promotions “represent significant milestones in their careers”.
Warren practises in property and private client law, focusing on elder law. She has tackled matters involving compulsory land acquisition under the Public Works Act. Previously, she worked in the office of Washington D.C. congressman John Lewis.
Litigator Gray has handled relationship property disputes and contentious estate matters to complex trust conflicts, especially in the context of blended families. She has served as an instructing solicitor for senior barristers and KCs.
She mentors Pasifika law students and is a Canterbury Law Review trustee. She is also on the committee tasked with developing the UC Pacific implementation plan 2024-2030 to enhance UC’s Pasifika legal education.
“It’s deeply rewarding to see our people grow with us and reach such important milestones in their careers,” Tavendale said.
