Finance expert makes partner at Morrison Mallett

Luke Walker

Morrison Mallett has added Luke Walker to the firm’s partnership.

Matthew Mallett, senior partner, said that Walker is “an outstanding choice to bring on as a partner.” Walker was promoted from senior associate.

"Luke brings over 20 years of expertise in all matters of finance, from assisting clients with their banking arrangements through to developing complex, bespoke lending and security arrangements with private lenders. He has also acted for several high-profile property developers on acquisitions and disposals of their commercial property portfolios, including advising on greenfield developments,” Mallett said.

Walker advises clients on commercial and corporate law, finance, securities, and commercial property.

Walker’s promotion follows the commercial law-focused firm’s expansion into Auckland in 2017. The firm grew by welcoming Michael Morrison and Ben Morrison, who added corporate litigation and commercial property to the Morrison Mallett areas of practice.

The firm, which was launched in February 2013, acts for a range of clients, including start-ups and some of the country’s biggest corporates and large international businesses.

Walker, who will continue to be based in the firm’s Wellington office, joins Mallett, the Morrisons, and Daniel Croft in the partnership.
