One week left to nominate for the 2023 NZ Law Awards

The window for submitting nominations to the 2023 NZ Law Awards is nearly shut as only one week remains before nominations period ends.

The awards are looking to crown the best of the country’s legal industry, spotlighting the contributions of leading lawyers, law firms, in-house teams and mediators in New Zealand across 25 categories.

“We anticipate there will be a wide range and top-notch calibre of nominations across all categories”, said Aya Riola, general manager – NZ at event partner LexisNexis. “LexisNexis advocates in recognising best in class achievements and celebrating excellence, and we are confident that this year's nominations will reflect above and beyond standards and notable accomplishments of legal professionals in New Zealand”.

LexisNexis will be sponsoring the award for Boutique Law Firm of the Year – a category close to the organisation’s heart. Riola described boutique firms as “a key enabler to the entire ecosystem of the legal industry”.

“These firms bring forward a distinct value to the legal profession through their specialised expertise, personalised services, and innovative approaches. With our genuine intentions to uplift boutique law firms, we aim to highlight their exceptional contributions and celebrate their commitment to client-centric practices”, he explained.

Those looking to nominate themselves or their peers for an award can do so online; you can submit nominations for as many of the categories as you like. Excellence Awardees will be revealed on 31 August; subsequently a panel of independent expert judges will identify which of the shortlisted candidates will triumph.

The 2023 NZ Law Awards is on track to be the most prestigious night for New Zealand’s legal profession. A glamourous gala hosted by The Nutters Club’s Mike King will be held at the Cordis Auckland on 23 November to celebrate the winners.

NZ Lawyer would like to extend special thanks to event partner LexisNexis, as well as to event sponsors Resolution Institute, Fluid Recruitment, James & Wells, Russell McVeagh, Artemis Executive Recruitment and LEAP Legal Software ANZ for supporting this event and the recognition of legal excellence.
