The new director focuses on local government matters and has been with the firm nearly 10 years
Hamertons Lawyers has elevated Michael O’Hagan to director.
O’Hagan stepped into the role last month. The firm said that his promotion “adds to the depth and breadth of the skillset amongst the leadership team.”
He has worked with local government for several years. His practice also covers property and commercial conveyancing, as well as commercial structuring and financing.
O’Hagan began his tenure with Hamertons in 2013 after a stint as in-house legal counsel for a Waikato district council. He also logged some time at a Rotorua firm.
In addition, Hamertons announced that it was backing Dairy Women’s Network in a partnership that it said would “see dairy farming businesses around the country benefit from advice and grassroots knowledge in the areas of agribusiness, property, succession planning, employment and family law.”
The firm explained that it would be providing guidance to the network through blog posts and regular webinars held every quarter.
“[Hamertons’] support opens doors to specialist knowledge on legal matters that our members are commonly facing, and link in well with the work we have already been doing with our Network Partners in the employment, business and succession planning space,” Dairy Women’s Network CEO Jules Benton said.
