This is the first team-up to come out of BHP's accelerator programme
DLA Piper has been tapped as the legal counsel to ASX-listed Kingsrose Mining Limited on its collaboration with BHP.
For BHP, this is the first alliance to come out of its accelerator programme BHP Xplor. The team-up was established through two alliance agreements with a wholly owned subsidiary of BHP.
Under these agreements, BHP will fund regional mineral exploration efforts in Norway and Finland. Kingsrose is set to explore mineral belts in these areas with the aim of discovering Tier-1 mineral deposits.
“Execution of the BHP alliance agreements represents a significant milestone for Kingsrose given this will allow Kingsrose's asset portfolio to benefit from BHP's considerable experience in exploration and project development whilst continuing to focus on the development of its core interests in the Råna [nickel-copper-cobalt] and Penikat [PGE-nickel-copper] projects”, DLA Piper lead partner James Nicholls (corporate) said.
Nicholls led the firm’s team alongside special counsel Nick Sceales (projects). They were assisted by solicitor Emily Eardley (corporate).
