The new partner returns to the firm after a year at a US law firm
Allen & Overy (A&O) has welcomed back Felipe Duque, this time as a partner, in Singapore.
Duque, who is known for his capital markets work, moved back to the firm after a year as counsel at Shearman & Sterling in the city-state.
In addition to being formerly a senior associate at A&O, he was an associate at both Finn Dixon & Herling and at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, as well as at Herbert Smith Freehills in London and then in Singapore.
“We are delighted to welcome Felipe back to Allen & Overy. He will further strengthen our capital markets team across the Asia Pacific region. He plays a key part in our ongoing investment in our US securities offering and in the growth of our capital markets practice in Asia,” said Stephen Miller, who heads the firm’s international capital markets team in Asia.
Duque, who is qualified in the US, has extensive experience acting for issuers, underwriters and other capital markets participants across a variety of debt, equity-linked and equity offerings, A&O said. He is also an expert in complex liability management.
Since he began his legal career, he has advised on transactions that span multiple jurisdictions, including in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
