Colin Biggers & Paisley has elected construction and engineering partner Andrew Murray as its new deputy managing partner.

Murray’s election to the new role was made official as of 7 August. He will assist managing partner Nick Crennan in leading the firm and supporting its ongoing growth over the next 12 months.

“It is a privilege to be appointed to this role and to have the confidence of our partners to work with Nick and join in the leadership of our successful legal practice into the future. I am passionate about our people, our practice and our clients, and committed to continuing to provide a diverse and supportive workplace in which our teams can thrive”, Murray said.

Crennan highlighted the “humility, confidence and strong energy” that Murray would bring to the leadership.

“A celebrated construction lawyer, Andrew has also been front and centre on our diversity programs, and instrumental in the success of our industry leading graduate program”, Crennan said. “Succession and transition is critical to the successful leadership and momentum of a legal practice. I am delighted Andrew Murray has been appointed as our deputy managing partner, and look forward to working with Andrew on the transition over the next year.”

Murray has been with CBP since 2010, and made partner in 2016. During his tenure, he led the Pride@CBP group as co-chair, and has long been part of the inclusion and diversity leadership team. Moreover, he has served as chair of the partner promotion interview panel and headed up graduate interview panels.

“Our practice is extremely well respected across our industries of focus, and we will continue to invest in our teams and our operations to facilitate profitable growth and a strong client experience across these areas”, he said. “I am also looking forward to leveraging the opportunities emerging technologies are bringing across the firm to deliver exceptional legal services to our clients”.
