She has served as the firm’s Queensland practice director since 2021
Allens has announced that Queensland practice director Chelsey Drake will be its new chair as of 1 January 2025.
Drake takes over for Fiona Crosbie, who steps down on 31 December after two terms in the role.
“On behalf of the Board, I welcome Chelsey to this new role. Chelsey brings with her extensive experience and a proven track record of leadership within our firm”, Crosbie said.
Drake was appointed Queensland practice director in April 2021. She became part of Allens’ executive committee in July 2023.
She has been a partner at the firm for 15 years, with a practice focusing on corporate law. Since 2016, she has served on the Australian Government's Takeovers Panel.
With Drake taking on the mantle of chair, a role Crosbie held since January 2017, Crosbie will concentrate on her competition practice starting next year.
