Hall & Wilcox acts on $320m hospital project
Hall & Wilcox has advised on a $320m healthcare development in Melbourne.

The national firm advised Generation Healthcare REIT, which has partnered with Healthe Care Australia, on the medical centre development in Epping. The development will occur in two stages. The Epping Medical Centre will be refurbished while a new 360-bed private hospital will be developed for $250m.

Generation has successfully used the same model on other sites across Melbourne, the firm said. It has also worked with the company on those transactions.

“Having worked with Generation on a number of similar projects, we were very happy to work with them on this transaction, which was at times challenging,” said John O’Kane, Hall & Wilcox partner. “With the support of our commercial and banking teams, we were able to work together and overcome any difficulties.”

O’Kane and partner Natalie Bannister, who both come from the firm’s property and projects group, jointly led the Hall & Wilcox team on the deal. The firm also fielded lawyers from its commercial and banking teams.
