Mark Montag and Shaun Whittaker add to Hall & Wilcox's projects and infrastructure expertise
Hall & Wilcox has nabbed for its partnership White & Case’s Mark Montag and Holding Redlich’s Shaun Whittaker.
The new partners bolster Hall & Wilcox’s projects and infrastructure expertise.
“Over the past few years, we have invested significantly in building a strong, reputable projects and infrastructure practice. There will be continued investment in energy transition and social
infrastructure. We can play a significant role in important nation-building projects, and in Australia’s energy transition,” managing partner Tony Macvean said.
Montag is a specialist in renewable energy, energy, and infrastructure project development. He concentrates on energy transition, procurement, financings, and due diligence. His clients comprise developers, financiers, government, and private sector clients both locally and overseas.
As a local partner at White & Case, he was part of the team that advised on the $11bn Metro Tunnel PPP project in 2017. He also logged a stint at Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) and completed a secondment as a GC for an Australian renewable energy developer.
Whittaker is an impact infrastructure specialist. He has handled major projects, service and procurement, investment, and structuring matters.
He has also tackled issues related to social and affordable housing, specialist disability accommodation, student accommodation, and healthcare/hospitals; his clients include developers, CHP, operators, and investors. Prior to his time as partner at Holding Redlich, he was previously at Mills Oakley, PwC, and HSF.
Joining Whittaker are senior associate Lauri Reid and lawyer Kayla Howe. Along with Montag, the new additions are based in Melbourne, but will contribute to Hall & Wilcox’s national offering.
