The event brings together the country’s top in-house experts to talk providing guidance and taking “smart risks”
As 2020 draws to a close and companies focus on what’s coming in the new year, In-house Legal Summit 2021 looks to address the important role in-house counsel play in supporting their organisations.
“The events this past year have created unprecedented and novel challenges for in-house counsel in their critical role of legal and business advisor. The need to adapt, be agile and open to new challenges to gain the confidence and trust of their organisation has never been more important,” said Ivana Kovacevic, conference chair and Aristocrat Technologies Australia Pty Ltd’s assistant GC for ANZ, privacy and global business functions. “We look forward to discussing at the summit the latest insights and practical ideas to ensure in-house professionals can continue to provide the guidance and support needed to drive their organisation’s strategy and operations well into the future.”
The virtual event, which is set to take place on Feb. 23, brings together the country’s leading in-house experts to share insights their insights on timely topics such as:
“Over the last couple of years, GCs across Australia have taken on increased responsibility for corporate governance and there appear to be growing opportunities for GCs to not only advise in the boardroom, but to sit on the board itself,” Greenpeace APAC GC Katrina Bullock said. “It's important for GCs who are looking to gain a seat on the board to understand the different hats or risk losing legal professional privilege.”
Dell Technologies’ ANZ senior legal director, Jaime Frasca, will also be sharing her take on how in-house counsel can be “smart risk” takers and how “smart risks” can be applied to business-related decision making.
