Gilchrist Connell has added two experienced litigation partners to its Sydney office, Melissa Fenton and Candice Ingleto, as principals and special counsel, Christopher Harrison. These new hires are expected to enhance the firm's national insurance practice.

Fenton brings over 30 years of experience advising insurers and professionals across various industries. Her expertise includes general liability, property damage, strata law, professional indemnity, and general commercial insurance claims.

Ingleton has experience in general liability insurance, personal injury, professional indemnity, property damage, and strata law. Ingleton is actively involved in the insurance community and has been a long-standing committee member of the Association for Women in Insurance NSW.

Harrison joins them as special counsel. Harrison has a background in general liability, professional indemnity, property damage, disciplinary proceedings, medical negligence claims, and historical abuse claims.

“Melissa, Candice, and Chris’ appointment to Gilchrist Connell is an important milestone in our firm’s ongoing commitment to provide its clients with market-leading expertise in key areas of demand. Their skillsets significantly increase our capability in Sydney in particular,” Gilchrist Connell managing principal Richard Wood said.

Chief people officer Belinda Cohen highlighted Gilchrist Connell’s progress towards gender quality with two new women as principals.

“Melissa and Candice’s arrival continues our dedication to achieving gender equality in our leadership. We are making great strides. Our Executive is 50% female and 50% male, and 46% of our partnership is female,” Cohen said.
