The experienced lawyer as extensive knowledge in international litigation and arbitration proceedings
A Jones Day partner is making a move to expand the firm’s arbitration practice in Asia.
Simon Bellas, the firm’s former partner-in-charge in Perth, is moving from the Western Australia capital to Singapore.
He joins Singapore-based partners Matt Skinner and Zachary Sharpe to help expand the firm’s arbitration practice in the city-state and in Hong Kong. Jones Day said that Bellas will also continue to contribute to the Australian litigation and arbitration practice.
Bellas is known for his expertise in international litigation and arbitration proceedings. Before joining Jones Day, he was a senior associate at Baker McKenzie and a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. He is admitted to the Supreme Courts of Queensland and Western Australia and High Court of Australia.
Jones Day said that Bellas will continue to advise clients on construction and claims disputes, with a particular focus on large-scale energy and resources projects and infrastructure matters.
The move came as Jones Day appointed Adam Salter as the partner in charge of its Perth office.
