Lateral hire hits the ground running at DLA Piper

A recent lateral hire at DLA Piper has hit the ground running, leading a team that advised a renewable-energy company in its acquisition of its first gas plant.

Partner Tom Fotheringham headed the team that advised Infigen Energy on its acquisition of a 109MW flexible, fast-start Smithfield Open Cycle gas turbine facility in Western Sydney.

Fotheringham arrived at DLA Piper on 23 April from King & Wood Mallesons.

“Infigen is leading the clean energy transition in Australia and we are proud to advise them on this important milestone in the execution of their business strategy,” he said.

The ASX-listed Infigen is paying $60m for the gas plant, reports say.
