Litera acquires information governance and records management company

Litera has acquired information governance and records management company FileTrail in a move that expands Litera's capabilities in the governance space.

The addition complements Litera’s existing CAM, PowerDesktop, and PS/Ship products to develop governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) capabilities for law firms and corporations. FileTrail’s integration adds solutions to Litera's current suite of legal tools that will enhance data management and compliance, streamline transfers, and maximise record disposition.

The improvements will enable Litera customers to better manage changing regulations and threats to data security. FileTrail customers will have access to Litera’s dedicated Customer Success Management setup, adoption resources, and product SMEs.

“Firms have always prioritised information governance and safeguarding client and matter data, but in today's regulatory environment, it's become even more critical”, said Litera CEO Sheryl Hoskins. “It is essential for firms to maintain a complete view of client and matter data to comply with their regulatory obligations. FileTrail’s strength lies in its ability to offer a unified view of all data within an organisation, and this integration into Litera's existing GRC portfolio will provide firms and corporate departments with industry-leading governance, risk, and compliance capabilities.”

FileTrail was established in 2000, catering to organisations in the legal, energy, biopharmaceutical, and financial services sectors.
