The former Hamilton Locke partner commences with the Sydney office
Kain Lawyers has appointed former Hamilton Locke partner James Tannock as its newest director in Sydney.
He will work alongside fellow directors David Mitchell, Nick Slack and Brendan Wykes.
Tannock brings significant experience in complex M&A and equity structuring transactions, both locally and overseas. He has tackled matters involving cross-border and domestic M&A, equity and acquisition structuring, shareholder and partnership arrangements (including management equity plans), capital raising, equity investments, and general corporate advisory.
He acted for MA Financial when it acquired the D’Albora Marina portfolio from Balmain Corporation for $225m. He provided advice on fund and structuring matters such as Balmain's reinvestment as a cornerstone investor in the new MA Marina Fund.
“[Tannock’s] experience in Australian and offshore markets will add further depth to our growing private equity practice. Our singular focus on mid-market transactions continues to set us apart in the market”, Kain Lawyers managing director John Kain said.
Before moving to Kain Lawyers, Tannock worked with Hamilton Locke’s Sydney M&A team. He also logged stints at Gilbert + Tobin, Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Winston & Strawn.
