The firm adds a an accredited specialist in commercial tenancy law to its leadership team
Aitken Partners has promoted Sarah Ward to principal.
An accredited specialist in commercial tenancy law, Ward moved to Melbourne and Aitken Partners eight years ago.
“What I value at Aitken Partners is that it is genuinely a great place to work,” Ward said. “After moving from Queensland, my colleagues at Aitken Partners made me feel so welcome that I have made Melbourne my permanent home.”
Her practice involves acting on property and commercial law matters. It complements the firm’s other specialty areas, including property, commercial, compulsory acquisition, banking and finance, and litigation.
“Sarah is an outstanding lawyer with great skills in client management and building relationships. She has always taken an active role mentoring junior lawyers and that leadership is something we are looking for when making these appointments,” said Ed Clark, one of the firm’s senior principal lawyers.
Ward said she enjoys the quality of work she has been involved in and how she is able to expand her skills and knowledge with further qualifications.
“I have essentially been allowed to build my own niche practice at Aitken Partners within extremely knowledgeable property and commercial teams,” she said.
The firm now has 12 principal lawyers, four special counsel, and eight senior associates.
