Former Mills Oakley partner Johann Spies has made the move to McCabes as its newest principal.
Spies commences with the corporate team, bringing more than 10 years of experience in commercial law. He has tackled insurance, financial services regulation, and M&A matters.
He has worked across multiple jurisdictions on issues related to corporate and regulatory law.
“Johann’s deep expertise in regulatory and corporate law aligns with our wider vision for the commercial division, making him the ideal candidate to bolster our corporate group”, McCabes managing partner Andrew Lacey said.
Spies was a senior lawyer with Norton Rose Fulbright before his tenure at Mills Oakley; he also spearheaded a team concentrating on the corporate and regulatory requirements of clients in highly regulated sectors like insurance, finance and credit as a partner at Clyde & Co South Africa.
He was also country manager of a firm in Laos and worked in Myanmar/Burma.
