Seyfarth Shaw promotes one to partner in Australia

Seyfarth Shaw has promoted another lawyer to partner in Australia.

Sarah Goodhew has joined the international firm’s partnership. The Sydney-based lawyer is currently on maternity leave and the firm said that she will continue to work closely with partner Paul Cutrone once she returns later this year.

Darren Perry, Seyfarth’s Australia managing partner, said that the firm is excited to have Goodhew as its second lawyer to ascend to partner since the firm opened its Australian practice. Seyfarth’s first partner promotion in Australia is Erin Hawthorne, who was elevated to the partnership last year.

Goodhew joined Seyfarth in 2015, when the firm launched its workplace health and safety practice. An expert in the practice area, she has worked with an assortment of clients in a wide range of sectors, including in the resources, retain, and transport industries.

Seyfarth said that she regularly handles regulatory investigations, health and safety prosecutions, and coronial inquests.

“Having worked in workplace health and safety law for nearly 15 years, she has developed extensive knowledge in this field. Since joining Seyfarth she has become known for her practical, realistic and commercially sound advice to clients,” Perry said.

Seyfarth Shaw, which has 16 offices around the world, has offices in Melbourne and Sydney. The firm is known for its litigation work and employment law advice.
