The firm is expanding its M&A capability in Singapore and South East Asia
Shearman & Sterling has boosted its global mergers and acquisitions practice with the hire of Kok Jin Ong as a counsel in Singapore.
As part of a broad M&A and joint venture practice across multiple industries, Jin specialises in energy and infrastructure M&A in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on energy, including renewables and other power transactions and joint ventures. In addition to his extensive experience of M&A and joint venture work in the renewables and other power space, Jin also has a strong track record in oil and gas and infrastructure transactions.
“Jin is a strategic addition to our global M&A team and his appointment reflects our commitment to deepening our M&A capability in Singapore and South East Asia,” said Phil Cheveley, head of mergers & acquisitions in EMEA and Asia, at Shearman & Sterling. “His arrival is part of our strategy to continue to grow our M&A offering in EMEA, Asia and beyond."
