Global appointments are expected to impact firm's presence and strategy across Australia
White & Case – a global firm with offices in Melbourne and Sydney – has announced the appointments of Jason Hill as chief marketing officer and Isabel Parker as chief innovation officer, effective immediately.
The firm expects that, while these are global appointments, they will impact its presence and strategy across Australia.
“Jason and Isabel’s superior credentials and track records give us confidence that marketing and innovation will continue to be strategic contributors to the Firm’s growth,” said Heather McDevitt, chair of White & Case, in a media release. “We welcome their leadership and fresh perspectives.”
Hill and Parker are taking over the former roles of Michael Hertz, who has served as the firm’s chief marketing officer since 2010 and who oversaw its innovation portfolio beginning in 2020. Hertz is now a senior advisor at White & Case.
“We are deeply grateful to Michael for his years of dedicated service, during which he played an integral role in elevating our brand and driving innovation across the Firm,” McDevitt said in the firm’s media release.
“As we welcome Jason and Isabel, I am confident that their diverse experiences and perspectives will further elevate our ability to deliver exceptional value to clients and lead in a rapidly evolving legal landscape,” McDevitt added in the media release.
Based in New York, Hill will lead the firm’s efforts to drive growth and to improve its reputation through overseeing branding and creative services, business development, client service programs, marketing technology, and communications.
He has worked to run global marketing organizations, to strengthen global brands, to reach audiences, and to create programs seeking to drive revenue. Prior to joining White & Case, he served as managing director and chief operating officer for global marketing at Goldman Sachs. He also held leadership roles in brand marketing and media at BlackRock and GE.
“White & Case has demonstrated its belief that marketing is accretive to building a world-renowned brand and contributing to commercial growth,” Hill said in the firm’s media release. “Marketing today requires an understanding of technology and messaging, data and creativity—and marketing leaders need a foot in both camps to drive reputation and revenue together.”
Parker, based in the London office, will lead the firm’s business intelligence, practice technology, research and market intelligence, and knowledge management functions, as well as its global initiatives seeking to harness talent and data to drive innovation and new technologies aiming to benefit clients.
She authored a book titled Successful Digital Transformation in Law Firms: A Question of Culture. Previously, she worked as a partner at Deloitte and as chief legal innovation officer with Freshfields.
“Innovation is a global challenge, and White & Case is unafraid to break new ground,” Parker said in the firm’s media release. “I am excited to connect the Firm’s broad portfolio of analysts, researchers and technologists with client feedback to build solutions that meet our clients’ most critical needs.”
