Corrs Chambers Westgarth has played a pivotal role in advising AZ Next Generation Advisory Limited (AZ NGA) on its recent $240 million investment deal with Oaktree Capital Management, Inc., a US-based private equity firm.

The investment will enable AZ NGA, a company specializing in acquiring stakes in financial advisory and accounting businesses, to expand its acquisition activities and strengthen its market position in Australia’s financial services sector.

"This transaction marks a major milestone in our strategic roadmap, and the Corrs team have been integral in not only getting us over the line but guiding us safely and efficiently through the numerous complexities of the deal,” AZ NGA chief legal officer Andrew Symes said.

The Corrs team provided comprehensive legal support, drawing on the firm’s expertise in corporate, intellectual property, and banking and finance. It was led by partners Andrew Lumsden and Felicity Saxon with partners Ben Emblin, Odette Gourley and Andrew Hewson.

“We are pleased to advise AZ NGA on this significant transaction in our journey with AZ NGA over the last decade. It is an honor to have represented AZ NGA as lead counsel on over 40 M&A transactions. This transaction will be instrumental in AZ NGA's vision as the business growth and succession partner of choice for financial advisory and accounting firms across Australia,” Lumsden said.
