Hall & Wilcox attracts new partner from HSF

Hall & Wilcox has attracted former Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) senior associate Sevan Gore to its partnership.

Gore is a corporate and commercial lawyer based in Perth. He specialises in equity capital markets (ECM), public and private M&A, joint ventures and shareholder arrangements, procurement, and general corporate work. He has a strong track record in leading ECM and M&A dealings for WA-based companies and founders.

He has worked closely with clients across several industries, but has significant experience in the mining sector. He regularly acts for resources companies and investors in strategic commercial matters.

Hall & Wilcox managing partner Tony Macvean confirmed that Gore’s appointment aligns with the firm’s strategic focus of expanding its commercial practice in WA and building corporate strength nationally.

“Sevan will work with our Perth partners to drive the growth of our commercial offering in the Perth market,” Macvean said. “His expertise will also strengthen our national corporate and equity capital markets practice, slotting in beautifully to our national corporate and ECM team.”

Before joining HSF, Gore had a one- year secondment to international natural resources company BHP Billiton, where he assisted the aluminium, manganese and nickel division on a wide range of corporate matters, including divestments, due diligence, and operational planning.
