The deal marks Eurofins' entry into the Australian farming and agriculture testing market
Mills Oakley has assisted Eurofins Agro Testing, a subsidiary of laboratory testing group Eurofins Scientific SE, with acquiring Australian agriculture testing services provider Australian Precision Ag Laboratory (APAL).
According to the firm, the acquisition marks Eurofins’ entry into the Australian farming and agriculture testing market. The acquisition will also allow APAL to continue offering and expand its soil, plant and water analytical services to the agriculture sector across the country.
Corporate advisory partner Brendan Sheehan led the Mills Oakley team on the transaction. He was assisted by lawyer Dania Ammouche.
“This is an important strategic acquisition by Eurofins,” Sheehan said. “Eurofins APAL, as it is now known, will benefit from access and support from synergies with the Eurofins agro testing laboratories and Eurofins’ unrivalled global network of scientists committed to continuous innovation.”
Mills Oakley has long worked with Eurofins, advising on a number of acquisitions including the acquisition of ARL Group from Banksia Capital in 2020 and that of Chemical Analysis from iX Biopharma Ltd. in 2019.
“While our team has advised Eurofins on a number of transactions over the years, this is the first acquisition we have completed for Eurofins at Mills Oakley since joining in December,” Sheehan said. “We hope it is the first of many.”
Luxembourg-based Eurofins is a global supplier of testing and support services to pharmaceutical, food, environmental, agriscience and consumer products industries.
