Thomson Geer takes on software company pickups by Banyan Software

Thomson Geer has helped global investment company Banyan Software Inc. to acquire three local software companies in line with its buy-and-hold for life strategy to purchase and develop software companies worldwide.

Banyan picked up retail point-of-sale software providers Future Net Australia and Worldsmart, as well as video streaming platform provider Viostream. Future Net and Worldsmart deliver point-of-sale software to supermarkets, grocers, and independent retail stores across Australia; Viostream offers a secure video streaming and hosting platform for enterprises.

The Thomson Geer team headed up by partner Loretta Reynolds guided Banyan on all aspects of the transactions – due diligence, the negotiation of sale agreements, IP assignment, new leases and employment and consultancy agreements.

Reynolds received support from partner Matthew Prescott, senior associate Hugo MacMillan, and associates Hugo Chapman and Ashlee Broadbent.
