Creevey Horrell Lawyers, a full-service law firm based in Queensland, has announced the appointment of Ben van de Beld as special counsel in the area of dispute resolution and litigation. He will work from the firm’s Toowoomba office.

“We are looking forward to Ben’s contribution to Creevey Horrell Lawyers, particularly working with our clients in agribusinesses and rural enterprises, and helping them navigate complex and challenging legal matters,” said Dan Creevey, Creevey Horrell’s principal, in a media release.

As a lawyer and corporate executive, van de Beld has over 20 years of legal experience both in Australia and beyond, according to the firm’s media release. He joins Creevey Horrell after working for seven years at Emapta Global, an offshore services company.

“My journey as a lawyer over the past two decades, including seven years as a barrister, has been rich and rewarding,” van de Beld said in the firm’s media release. “This journey has not only sharpened my legal expertise but also enriched my understanding of the dynamic nature of law, enabling me to advocate effectively for my clients in any forum.”

“The legal team at Creevey Horrell Lawyers understands the needs of regional Australians and Ben is passionate about making a difference to those communities,” Creevey said in the firm’s media release.

In the media release, van de Beld expressed eagerness to offer legal services to rural industries and regional communities.

“My commitment to the legal profession remains unwavering, and I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities with the team at Creevey Horrell,” van de Beld said in the firm’s media release.

He is an advisory council member with the Brisbane Roar, an A-League soccer club, and author of a book titled Theory of Happiness. Outside of the law, his interests include philosophy, politics, and religion.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of New England and his postgraduate degree in employment and industrial relations from the University of Melbourne.
