The new partners will operate from Ashurst's Perth office
Ashurst will welcome three new partners from Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) to boost its energy and resources offering across the Asia-Pacific region.
Paul Lingard, Miriam D’Souza and Jessica Davies will join the firm’s projects and corporate teams in Perth.
An experienced corporate lawyer, Lingard has extensive expertise in handling complex M&A transactions, operational issues, and large-scale development projects for energy and mining companies. He has advised clients on a wide array of corporate and development issues across the energy and resources sector.
He has also assisted several largest players in the oil and gas sector with their international operations, including structuring trading arrangements and infrastructure access.
Lingard has been recognised as a leading expert in the energy and resources sector by major legal directories such as Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500 and Doyle’s Guide.
A practitioner for over 15 years, D’Souza has broad project development practice representing the mining, electricity, waste, transport and social infrastructure industries. She has advised clients from both public and private sectors on strategic issues, project delivery and implementation.
At present, she is a board member of the National Association of Women in Construction − WA Chapter. She was listed in Best Lawyers in Australia for her work in government practice.
Davies is an international energy and resources lawyer with a particular focus on acquisitions, disposals, new projects, joint ventures, supply, transport, infrastructure, and operational arrangements. She has acted for numerous clients across the mining, oil, and gas sectors.
She is currently associated with the Australian Energy and Resources Lawyers Association. For her expertise in energy and natural resources law, she was listed in Doyle’s Guide as one of Australia’s leading practitioners in energy and natural resources law.
