Jackson Russell has welcomed David Alizade back to New Zealand, appointing him as a partner in its business law team.
Alizade, a native of the UK who has worked much of his career in New Zealand, was the former business law head of UK firm Asserson Law Offices in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he moved in early 2016. Prior to Asserson, he was head of commercial at intellectual property specialist firm Baldwins in Auckland.
A business lawyer with two decades of experience in both private practice and in-house roles, Alizade specialises in joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, technology, and intellectual property. He acts for clients in a wide array of sectors, including technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, infrastructure and intellectual property commercialisation.
Alizade, who finished a master’s degree in law with honours from Cambridge University, impressed the firm not only with his specialist expertise, but also with his ability to build rapport with clients and his clear business-focused advice, said Darryl King, Jackson Russell partner.
Jackson Russell now has eight partners. The 173-year-old firm
hired partner Dave Compton from Heimsath Alexander earlier this year. In October last year, the firm
hired partner Israel Vaealiki.
