NZ Lawyer: How long have you worked with Fletcher Vautier Moore and what brought you to the firm?
Dean Russ: I’ve worked for Fletcher Vautier Moore for six years. An opportunity to work in a progressive law firm in a fabulous location [attracted me to Fletcher Vautier Moore].
NZL: What’s the best thing about being a lawyer in a regional area?
DR: Great work and great lifestyle
NZL: How would you sum up lawyers in three words?
DR: Diverse, interesting and dedicated
NZL: What’s the most interesting/challenging case you’ve ever worked on?
DR: A commercial claim for compensation from the Crown under the New Zealand Bill of Rights, which ended in the Privy Council
NZL: What’s the strangest case you’ve ever worked on/been involved with?
DR: Anything crime-related!
NZL: You’re based in Nelson – what’s one thing that visitors to the town should never miss?
DR: Golden Bay.
NZL: Do you have any hobbies/interests outside of work?
DR: Anything outdoors but particularly tramping, hunting and fishing.

DR: Maintaining a high level of client service in an increasingly competitive and regulated environment
