In a New Zealand first, the country’s largest voluntary legal membership organisation is offering Airpoints Dollars for both ADLSI members and non-member lawyers purchasing its products.
Auckland District Law Society Inc (ADLSI) this week announced an addition to its member benefit programme - becoming a partner of Air New Zealand’s Airpoints programme and a launch partner of Airpoints for Business.
Other membership offerings include benefits around insurance, business support, lifestyle and fashion, to name a few.
ADLSI President, Brian Keene QC, said the partnership – a first in the legal space – is an important and strategic move in the sector.
“Almost everything that lawyers buy from ADLSI will qualify with one or two very small exceptions.
“So whether it’s continuing professional development, text books, annual membership or tickets to ADLSI’s popular collegiality events, members and non-member lawyers will be able to earn Airpoints Dollars in many ways,” he said.
ADLSI members will earn four Airpoints dollars for every $100 spent (exclusive of GST) on eligible purchases and non-member lawyers will earn two Airpoints dollars per $100 spent.
Members can start earning Airpoints dollars straight away once they have registered their Airpoints membership number on the ADLSI website,
www.adls.org.nz.
“This is a significant added reward for the hundreds of firms and many thousands of lawyers we currently deal with,” Keene said.
“It comes as a bonus for their existing and future business with us.”
The announcement coincides with the launch of Air New Zealand’s new Airpoints for Business programme, which could benefit local law firms as well.
The Airpoints for Business initiative rewards small and medium-sized businesses with bonus Airpoints Dollars on employees’ business related travel.
It also rewards business-related spend at a range of Airpoints for Business partners, including ADLSI, with Airpoints dollars.
ADLSI general manager for marketing and member services, Michele Dodds, told
NZLawyer the two organisations were a great fit.
“Lawyers travel for both business and personal reasons, and it’s likely a great many are already Airpoints members,” she said.
“Airpoints for Business also provides the opportunity to participate at a firm level. I think firms will find this quite an advantageous programme.”
Head of customer loyalty at Air New Zealand, Mark Street, was delighted to welcome ADLSI as an Air New Zealand partner.
“The airline has a strong focus on growing the Airpoints programme for its 1.9 million members and the inclusion of ADLSI is a great addition to our partner network.
“We are excited by the opportunities presented by this partnership, and to offer lawyers and law firms a really good Airpoints Dollars earn rate.”
“Through the new Airpoints for Business programme, law firms will be able to use the Airpoints Dollars they earn to offset the cost of business travel, reward staff, or even take a holiday,” Keene added.
