HK GC group joins global network

The Hong Kong Corporate Counsel Association (HKCCA) will be absorbed by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the global legal association of in-house counsel with more than 42,000 members.

The integration marks the launch of ACC Hong Kong. By 1 September, all of the more than 800 members of the HKCCA will become members of ACC Hong Kong.

“By rebranding as ACC Hong Kong, it provides members of both associations with the strongest global network for in-house lawyers,” said Lin Shi, HKCCA president and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing’s IPO co-deputy head. “Our alliance will yield more connections, resources, and professional development opportunities for in-house lawyers in Hong Kong.”

ACC Hong Kong members will gain access to the ACC’s global network of resources spread across six continents. These resources include, regional- and global-focused specifically design for in-house counsel. They will also have access to ACC education programs across the world, like the ACC Australia National Conference and ACC annual meeting.

Tanya Khan, ACC Australia VP and managing director, said that the alliance strengthens ACC Australia’s ability to connect its members with the in-house counsel community in Hong Kong.

“The new members joining the ACC network will enrich our association and provide an important perspective on doing business in Hong Kong and the broader Asia Pacific region,” Khan said.
