A number of big-name firms are partners of the project
A legaltech incubator that’s supported by the Law Society of England and Wales has opened.
Called the LawTech Eagle Lab, the incubator is the brainchild of Barclays Bank. The centre located in London’s Notting Hill now has its first four residents, the Law Society said. The first four residents are ayfie, Ginie AI, Legatics, and Annotate.
The incubator is also backed by some of the biggest names in the legal industry, including Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Clyde & Co, DWF, Gowling WLG, Latham & Watkins, Norton Rose Fulbright, and Simmons & Simmons.
Academic partners of the venture are University College London and The University of Liverpool.
“Now that the first residents have moved into our Eagle Lab, we look forward to working with our partners to facilitate supporting their growth by providing them with an environment in which they are able to collaborate and learn fast,” said Stephanie Pagni, Barclays UK general counsel.
“We believe our residents offer the prospect of exciting solutions to improve a wide range of working practices in the legal sector,” she said.
