As one firm launches a new practice, another hires its second partner from a global firm in weeks
Two London-headquartered international firms have recently made major moves in Singapore.
Osborne Clarke’s associated office in Singapore, OC Queen Street, has launched a competition practice by hiring two senior lawyers.
Harikumar Sukumar Pillay joined the firm from the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS), while Poh Lip Hang moved from top-tier Singapore firm Drew & Napier.
Pillay was the director of the enforcement division of the CCS. Poh was the deputy head of the competition and regulatory economics practice at Drew & Napier. He was also previously a senior lawyer at the CCS.
Meanwhile, Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC) has hired its second HFW partner. Gareth Williams has joined the firm just weeks after Paul Apostolis, who headed the HFW shipping practice in Singapore, moved to CJC.
Williams has joined Apostolis and Iain Short as the three directors of CJC in the city-state. He brings to the firm more than three decades’ experience, including two decades in Greece, where he focused on the shipping industry and international trade. He is a specialist in dispute resolution and contract law, with an interest in general aviation law.
