Stace Hammond has promoted staff solicitor Oscar Ward to associate, reported the New Zealand Law Society.

Ward is an insolvency and property litigation specialist who works with the firm’s dispute resolution team. Before turning his focus to litigation, he first worked in property and general practice.

His areas of expertise include bankruptcy and liquidations, commercial law and trusts and estate. He has advised insolvency practitioners, multinational financial services providers, property owners and a leading building products supplier.

Ward has also represented clients before the High Court and the District Court.

He received his law degree from the University of Canterbury, and was admitted as barrister and solicitor in New Zealand in 2013. Prior to joining Stace Hammond in February 2019, Ward spent some time in London, working with major law firms in the UK.

He returned to New Zealand in December 2018.

Last June, Stace Hammond announced Ward’s appointment as staff solicitor alongside Olga Garin. The firm also appointed two new partners and a senior tax counsel.
