Top firm gets diversity and inclusion nod
Russell McVeagh has received a “high commended” distinction in the “Tomorrow’s Workforce” category at the 20th Diversity Awards NZ.

The firm’s diversity and inclusion policies stem from an understanding of what employees want from their organisations, said Gary McDiarmid, Russell McVeagh CEO.

“Employees today want to work in an organisation that values diversity and inclusion, enables flexible and varied work, has an emphasis on collaborative networks, and is dedicated to staff health and well-being,” he said.

Among the firm’s initiative to attract and keep talent is a long-running scholarship program open to all New Zealand schools. It also includes the firm’s campaign to educate people about the organisation before they even join the firm.

Russell McVeagh also ensures that technology is widely used by people in the firm to enable flexible working. It also has a comprehensive wellbeing program for employee mental and physical health.

Recently, the firm debuted its corporate social responsibility report and launched a new parental leave policy.
