The new partners boost the firm’s expertise in relationship property and commercial law

Two make partner at Meares Williams
Belinda Ferguson, Olivia Johnston

Meares Williams has promoted Belinda Ferguson and Olivia Johnston to partners, reported the New Zealand Law Society.

Ferguson started with the firm in 2015. She focuses on relationship property, such as matters involving separations and contracting out agreements (prenups). She also has experience handling dissolution of marriage applications, general civil litigation, estate litigation, trusts, conveyancing, alcohol licensing, wills, and enduring powers of attorney.

Outside of her role with Meares Williams, she serves as the lawyer for Amuri Ski Club Inc.

Johnston commenced with Meares Williams in 2021. Her practice focuses on commercial law (leasing and financing), property law and conveyancing, trust law, enduring powers of attorney, wills and occupation right agreements.

She holds a degree in pharmacology in addition to her law degree. She finished her legal studies while on exchange at the University of Nottingham in England before returning to Christchurch.
