Anthony Harper has expanded its partnership with the addition of corporate law specialist Lance Jones.

Jones brings over two decades of experience in the field gleaned from working not just across New Zealand, but also in Sydney and London. He is an expert in matters involving domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity transactions, complex commercial contracts, and shareholder/joint venture arrangements.

He is highly knowledgeable on the Overseas Investment Act and has provided guidance on its application to international and inbound transactions. He has also navigated OIO consent processes.

“Lance is a technically proficient and pragmatic corporate transactional lawyer who will add significantly to the firm's considerable depth and expertise in both M&A and the Overseas Investment Act space. His international experience and overseas investment expertise will be invaluable to our clients who operate and transact in an increasingly globalised market”, Anthony Harper managing partner Ed Dunphy said.

Before making the jump to Anthony Harper, Jones was a special counsel at Russell McVeagh, where he spent 10 years of his career. He also logged stints at Norton Rose Fulbright, Herbert Smith Freehills and Bell Gully.

He commences with Anthony Harper at its Tāmaki Makaurau office, working with the corporate and commercial team.
