James & Wells gets strong upgrade with newly promoted partner, associate
Jared Millar, George Jackson

James & Wells has announced the promotion of a new partner in Jared Millar and a new associate in George Jackson.

Millar has been part of the firm since 2004, while Jackson came in in 2019. Managing partner Tim Walden described Millar as a lawyer with a passion for working with SMEs.

As a member of the patents team, Millar has been involved in matters related to animal health and husbandry products, automated dairy technologies, building and construction technologies, fluid applicators, power generation, and vehicle suspensions. He focuses on drafting, preparing, and prosecuting patent applications.

He is an expert in freedom to operate and patentability investigations, validity assessments, patent oppositions and restorations, and design applications and registrations.

Meanwhile, Walden lauded Jackson as “an exceptional young lawyer, and has become an invaluable member of our successful and hard-working commercial and dispute resolution teams”. Jackson began his stint at the firm as a solicitor with a specialisation in dispute and enforcement of a wide range of IP rights.

He concentrates on trade mark and Fair Trading Act 1986 issues, and graduated with a degree in computer science. He cherishes a strong interest in AI and the regulation of new and emerging technologies, the firm said.
