Corrs guides Prysmian through $1 billion Marinus Link project

Corrs Chambers Westgarth is playing a central role in the $1 billion Marinus Link project, providing legal counsel to Prysmian as it undertakes the development of a subsea electricity interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria.

This project is a key component of Australia’s renewable energy strategy as it boosts Tasmania’s access to the National Electricity Market and enhance the flow of low-cost renewable energy.

Led by partners Trevor Thomas and John Broadhead, the Corrs legal team is advising Prysmian on the legal complexities involved in its $1 billion contract to design, build, and commission the subsea cable system.

“We are pleased to advise Prysmian on the Marinus Link project. This project demonstrates the significant and growing demand for subsea electricity interconnectors and strengthens Prysmian’s global leadership in both the sector and the growing renewables market in the region,” Thomas said in a press release.

“The project exemplifies Corrs’ position as a trusted advisor on Australia’s largest and most complex environmental construction projects.”x
