Property law vets Greg Hassall and James Cooper head up the eight-strong group
HopgoodGanim Lawyers has picked up an eight-strong team from Corrs Chambers Westgarth’s (Corrs) real estate team in Brisbane.
Property law and leasing experts Greg Hassall and James Cooper head up the team, which includes another lawyer, three paralegals, a legal assistant, and a research clerk. Hassall is a consultant, while Cooper became a partner.
Hassall has represented major developers and local governments on complex property matters. Cooper has tackled complex leasing arrangements, large-scale asset acquisitions and disposals, and end-of-term arrangements and disputes; his clients have included major corporates, financial institutions and Australian telecommunication infrastructure providers.
“Expanding our real estate and development capabilities has always been a key focus for us. Along with the breadth of experience and talent this team brings, we are also excited about the opportunities provided by their leasing technology as we continue to deliver innovative solutions to our clients across Australia”, HopgoodGanim managing partner Luke Mountford said.
HopgoodGanim confirmed it worked closely with Corrs to facilitate the team’s easy transition as several of their clients also make the switch. The team started its tenure with HopgoodGanim on 3 February.
Matthew Biles has been appointed a senior associate. The paralegals are Anne Butler, Felicity Dopheide and Siobhan Bowden; the legal assistant is Danielle Marshall while the research clerk is Bryce Kerr.
