Holding Redlich, national firm, has announced that it has expanded its Canberra office through the addition of seven new team members, including partner Philip Jones-Hope.

Jones-Hope, who previously led the government and defence practice at KPMG Law, has more than 25 years of experience in legal, business, and commercial roles. He has served as a senior solicitor and adviser within a Commonwealth agency.

The firm expects that his appointment will expand its Australian government advisory capabilities and will further strengthen its growing portfolio of Commonwealth government clients.

“This is part of our deliberate focus on government law, which is a core practice area for Holding Redlich,” said Troy Lewis, the firm’s national managing partner, in a media release. “By bringing in partners like Philip with unparalleled experience in serving the public sector, we’re able to deepen our support for Commonwealth clients in a rapidly evolving landscape.”

“Joining Holding Redlich is an opportunity to work with a firm that stands out for its tailored and client-centric approach to government law,” Jones-Hope said in the firm’s media release. “The firm’s collaborative culture and reputation for innovative problem-solving make it a great place to work on the complex challenges faced by Australian Government clients.”

Expansion in Canberra

Holding Redlich shared in its media release that, apart from Jones-Hope, six new additions with extensive experience in government, administrative, and public law will work alongside its existing partners in Canberra, namely Elizabeth Carroll, Sarah Byrne, and Andrew Klein.

Carroll, partner and head of the firm’s Canberra office, welcomed the new team members. “The growth of our Canberra team reflects our commitment to supporting Commonwealth clients with deep sector knowledge and practical legal solutions,” Carroll said in the firm’s media release.

“Philip and his team bring invaluable expertise that directly aligns with our strategic focus,” Carroll added in the media release. “We are excited about the future and are well-positioned to continue delivering the highest level of service to our Australian Government clients, backed by a team that genuinely understands their unique requirements.”

Holding Redlich has offices in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, and Cairns. The clients advised by the firm’s lawyers have included many large public and private companies and all levels of government in Australia.
